Hi everyone!
As many of you know, I just went on a sporadic 4-day trip to Colorado! It was a small girls' trip to reconnect with nature and destress.
If you read my last blog post, you know I planned this trip for under $250. However, stuff comes up, and a little more money had to be paid. Nevertheless, this trip was still the least expensive vacation I have ever taken and the most fun!
Today, I am going to share with you my favorite places we ate, visited, and explored while in Colorado.
And, at the end of this post, I have included an easy-to-read list of all my top Colorado must-do’s!
Our Itinerary:
We were blessed enough to know someone who lives in Colorado. So, he decided to make us an extensive itinerary for the trip. We ended up following the itinerary to a T, which helped us to see as much as we could during the trip.
Day One:
Get to the Denver Airport at 10 amPick up the rental car at Enterprise
Drive straight to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater
Dinner at View House Eatery
Day one was packed with things to do. As soon as we got our rental car, we headed straight to Red Rocks Park. We did a wonderful hike on the Trading Post Trail and then headed to the amphitheater. Once we finished our hike, we drove back into Denver and got ready for dinner. We ate at the View House Eatery and it was nothing short of amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was even better. I highly recommend their outdoor seating area!
Day Two:

Most of our days were filled with a lot of driving. When staying in Denver, you are about one-two hours away from all the places we visited.
We started the day with a beautiful drive through the Rocky Mountains (we took some of my favorite pictures during this drive). The scenic drive took us to Breckenridge, Colorado to see the Troll Isak Heartstone. If you have never heard of Troll Isak, he is a massive troll statue made from pallets and
Day three:
Rocky Mountain National ParkScratch Deli & Bakery
Day three was filled with hiking, chipmunks, and elk at the Rocky Mountain National Park. Next to Breckenridge, this was my favorite part of the whole trip. We decided to hike to Dream Lake and Emerald lake. Both of these spots were stunning, especially Dream Lake. There was a ton of wildlife wandering about and the chipmunks were very friendly. NOTE** Make sure you reserve a time slot to visit the park! However, they are not strict on the time you leave.
This excursion took us the whole day and we were very tired afterward. On our way back from the park, we stopped by Scratch Deli & Bakery and ate the best sandwiches I have ever had!
Day four:
Colorado SpringsPikes Peak

Our last day was full of adventure. We started our day early with a drive to Pikes Peak. When the shuttles took us to the top, the views were jaw-dropping. Pikes Peak summit is 14,115 feet high, the tallest in the southern front rage of the Rocky Mountains. So, when we got to the top, it was snowing! Once we took in views, we headed into the Pikes Peak Summit House to try one of their legendary donuts.
Our next stop was the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. This garden is filled with beautiful rock formations, flowers, and rock climbers. My favorite formation was the Siamese Twins! Once we finished in Colorado Springs, we headed back to Denver to have a delicious dinner at the White Chocolate Grill.
Although our trip was short, we packed in everything we could. I will definitely be making another trip back to Colorado to visit the other national parks and attractions!
